The bids are in….

The bidding process is complete for the Pink and Blue sections. The Road Commission conducted an open bidding process, receiving bids from 5 contractors for each section. Ajax Paving was the lowest bidder for both the Pink and Blue projects and will be awarded the work.

The winning Pink section bid came in below the construction estimate included in the petitions. Based on the winning bid, the final assessment for Pink will be $48,162 (compared to $48,697 in the petition).

In the Blue section, the winning bid was essentially the same as the petition construction cost estimate; the final assessment for Blue will be $42,270 per parcel (just $1 different than the petition estimate).

The next step in the process is the final public hearing by Bloomfield Township, which will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 7 pm at the Township Hall (4200 Telegraph Road). Given the bidding results, we do expect that the Township Trustees will approve both the Pink and Blue SADs. If the approval is finalized on April 24, construction will begin around May 6.
