In the 60 years since our roads were paved, our neighborhood has added layer after layer of asphalt on the original roads as a short-term patch. Our roads are now about 40 years past their useful life.

Green Section
We expect to receive the cost estimate and petitions to fix the roads in the Green section and the petitions in summer 2025.
What is the latest on the Roads Project?
Ten informational small group meetings were held between August and November 2024. These meetings are designed for those in the Gold, Yellow and Green sections to obtain information about the project and the SAD process as they evaluate whether to sign the petitions in support of the project. Now that petitions for the Gold and Yellow sections are completed, we will wait to schedule additional small group meetings until petitioning to fix the roads in the Green section begins in 2025.

Pink and Blue sections: The final asphalt was laid on November 11. Final concrete work on walks and ADA ramps was completed before Thanksgiving. Restoration work on sprinklers and lawns will continue into early December, weather permitting. The landscape contractor will be back in spring 2025 to complete sprinkler repairs and other restoration work (e.g., sod that didn’t take) as necessary. Gold and Yellow sections:
The petition effort to gather signatures in support of fixing the roads in the Gold and Yellow sections has been completed, and Bloomfield Township has completed the verification of signatures on the petitions.
52% of the residents in the Gold section signed petitions in support of fixing their roads.
Over 53% of residents in the Yellow section signed petitions in support of fixing the roads in that section.
The first public hearings for Gold and Yellow sections will likely be scheduled in early January.
