Construction update — BLUE section 11/6/24
Construction update from the Road Commission:
This week
The second and final layer of asphalt paving is scheduled for the western part of the Blue section on Thursday 11/7 and Friday 11/8. See blog post HERE for the schedule, background information on paving, and parking suggestions. Reminder: Streets being paved will be closed to ALL traffic and parking on the paving day and will reopen the following morning. Residents will not be able to get into or out of their driveways during this time. Additionally, no parking on Half Moon on Thursday 11/7, as asphalt trucks will be backing down Half Moon to supply the paving equipment on Burning Bush.
Mike’s Landscaping will continue restoration work — fixing sprinklers and restoring construction damaged areas with topsoil then sod. Mike’s will water new sod for the next few weeks if needed after residents have winterized sprinkler systems. See further discussion below.
ART will continue structure linings this week and next week. This work is about 75% completed in the Blue section.
GM & Sons will be on site on Saturday, starting concrete work on a few driveways, and starting concrete for sidewalks and ADA ramps near corners.
Next week
The second and final layer of asphalt will be laid in the eastern part of the Blue section (Glengarry Circle West, Williamsbury, Hamilton and Overhill.
GM & Sons will continue remaining concrete work (driveways, ADA ramps, walkways).
ART will complete structure lining.
Mike’s Landscaping will continue restoration work.
Restoration of brick paver and bluestone walkways and driveways will begin on Monday 11/11. Temporary approaches will be removed on Friday 11/8 or Saturday 11/9. Residents who will be impacted by this work will be notified by the contractor.
Remainder of the month
Mike’s Landscaping will continue restoration work through the end of the month (weather permitting). The restoration work will include sprinklers, topsoil and sod, as well as any “punch list” items. Mike’s will address issues as quickly as possible before the weather turns. Residents should report items that require repair to Wayne Dabrowski at wdabrowski@rcoc.org.
Sprinkler winterization
Residents should schedule winterization of their sprinklers, and have the contractor flag any damage noted in the winterization. Email Wayne Dabrowski (wdabrowski@rcoc.org) to be added to the list for spring repairs.
