Construction update from the Road Commission
This week
Mike’s Landscaping is continuing restoration work in the Pink section. They are focusing on completing the topsoil and sodding in the southern part of the section, on the streets that will be paved with the second layer of asphalt starting tomorrow.
ART will continue structure lining. This work is now concentrated in the northern part of the Pink section.
The second and final layer of asphalt will be laid starting tomorrow 10/31, weather permitting. See paving schedule and details of this operation in yesterday’s blog post HERE.
Next week
Mike’s Landscaping will continue restoration work focused in the northern part of the section. “Punch list” items in the southern part of the section will continue after final paving is completed. This work should not involve heavy equipment on the newly paved roads.
ART will continue structure lining. Fort Wayne will complete remaining structure adjustments.
GM & Sons will be pouring concrete walkways and ADA ramps at corners and where there are ramps from the sidewalk to the street.
Ajax will complete the second and final layer of asphalt in the southern part of the section, if weather delays this week push the work into next week.
Week of November 11
Mike’s Landscaping will continue restoration work.
The second and final layer of asphalt will be laid in the northern part of the Pink section. Timing and order of paving should be available late next week.
What happens after paving?
Some restoration work may remain after the wearing course of asphalt is laid. Residents who still need sprinkler repairs or other restoration work should contact Wayne Dabrowski of the Road Commission at wdabrowski@rcoc.org.
Sprinkler winterization and repairs in the spring
Mike’s Landscaping has completed most sprinkler repairs in the southern part of the Pink section. Residents who discover issues during winterization should have their sprinkler people flag the areas that need repair, and email Wayne Dabrowski at wdabrowski@rcoc.org to be placed on the list for spring repairs. Mike’s will be back in the spring to repair any remaining issues that resulted from the road construction. Residents can choose to have their own contractors repair any such damage, but will not be reimbursed for doing so.
