Gold Section Signatures Accepted by Township

Gold Section on its way to better roads!

This week, we submitted the signed Gold section petitions to Bloomfield Township to initiate the next step in the process of rebuilding the Gold section roads. Bloomfield Township informed us today that they have verified the signatures, and almost 52% of the residents in the Gold section support fixing their roads.  

Collecting verified signatures from a majority of the residents in the Gold section was a critical in the process of fixing our roads. Next will be a series of hearings with the Township Board of Trustees. If all goes according to plan, the Oakland County Road Commission will bid the project in early 2025, and construction in the Gold section will start spring 2025. The Gold section residents can add their roads to the 40% of the Village that has already chosen to invest in new, pot-hole free roads! Congratulations to our Gold section volunteers for their hard work and perseverance in getting us to this point! And to our Gold section residents, for having the courage and confidence to make this investment in their neighborhood.   

Although 52% of residents in the Gold section have signed the petition, there are a number of residents whom our volunteers were not able to reach and ask to sign. If you are still interested in signing the Blue section petition, please contact the Village Manager at 248-594-8376 or villagemanager@bloomfieldvillage.net to arrange a time to sign. Residents of the Gold section will receive additional communications with further detail about the hearing process at the Township.
