PINK section - updated milling/paving dates on Glenhurst, Westwood

Given the rain in the forecast today and tomorrow, milling operations will begin on N. Glenhurst and Westwood on Wednesday, August 7, to remove the existing asphalt from each street. Grading operations will take place Thursday, Friday and Monday (8/12); the grading operations prepare the subgrade for pavement. Paving is now anticipated to be done Tuesday 8/13, weather permitting.

Ajax will post notifications on front doors about 48 hours in advance of the paving date.

Reminders —

There can be no street parking during the milling, grading or paving operations. Residents will need to park in their driveways, or on other streets. Vehicles remaining in the street when work begins at 7 am each day are subject to towing. Parking options for this week include Glenhurst and Westwood north of Pine, Waddington, or the west side/rear of parking lots for the Lutheran Church on Maple.

N. Glenhurst and Westwood will be closed completely to ALL traffic on the day of paving. Residents will not be able to get into or out of their driveways during paving operations. Flaggers will be posted on Pine Street and Maple to direct traffic around the paving operation. Once the asphalt has sufficiently cooled, the street (or part of the street) will be reopened to traffic.

Tuesday’s paving will be the first layer of asphalt. Another final layer will be placed in the future.
