Pink Section cost estimate announced!

The Road Commission for Oakland County estimates each home in the PINK SECTION will pay roughly $3,250 annually, plus interest, over the course of a proposed 15-year Special Assessment District (SAD). This number is based on the Road Commission’s experience putting similar work up for bid, and yes, their estimate includes factors like inflation and anticipated labor costs.

There is no question it’s an intimidating number. Yet, that number reflects the fact that Bloomfield Village homeowners have chosen not to make any substantive investments in our roads over the last 60 years. Importantly, unlike in previous attempts to fix our roads, the proposed Special Assessment District lien will be linked to the property itself – not the homeowner.

Properties in the other four sections of the Bloomfield Village (Blue, Gold, Yellow, Green) will have their own unique construction estimates based on the construction plans for that section, and the cost per property will differ from section to section. We will announce those other estimates when we receive them.
